Peer Kindness Challenges

Small actions, big impact. Try these simple weekly challenges to help kids grow empathy and stronger friendships.

Empathy Kindness Friendship
Week 1: Compliment a Classmate
Encourage your child to give a genuine compliment to a peer each day this week. Example: “I like how you solved that problem,” or “You’re really good at drawing.”
Week 2: Lunch Buddy
Challenge them to sit with someone new at lunch or invite someone sitting alone to join their group.
Week 3: Share & Include
Teach your child to offer to share supplies, or invite another child into a game. Small gestures go a long way.
Week 4: Kind Note Drop
Write short, anonymous notes of encouragement (like “You’re a great friend”) and place them in lockers or on desks.
Week 5: Gratitude Circle
Encourage a group of friends to share one thing they appreciate about each other, building a culture of thankfulness.
